It was a record-breaking day at the Orkney Farmers Market on December 10, when the largest number of stall-holders turned out to sell their wares on an unseasonably warm December morning.

In all, there were 14 stalls of varying shapes and sizes selling everything from organic meat to fruit and veg.

There were also a couple of charity stalls and one selling plants.

A big thanks to everyone who came along.

Just like my first appearance at the market in November, everything went off the stall in under three hours.

Particular favourites this time were the home-made scones. I was up at just after 6am to start baking them and they had all gone by 10am. Guess it will have to be an even earlier start next time!

This was my last market this year. When the new season starts in April, I will be back.

Until then, if you want to get in touch, please send me an e-mail.

The Stenness Chocolate stall (left) always attracts plenty of interest, while Cathy Dearness was selling cabbages and turnips, which are also available from Shearer's, in Victoria Street, Kikrwall.
