| Tarty Tomato Pasta Sauce | ||||||||||||||||||||||
|
This is a very simple sauce which I like to make when I am desperate to have pasta but don't want to stay in the kitchen for a long time! You can use any type of pasta - I usually use shell or farfalle as they absorb the sauce well.
This sauce has a sharp taste so if you are not a fan, then swap white wine vinegar with balsamic vinegar for a sweeter taste. You can also add chilli flakes for an extra kick to the whole dish. This dish yields 2 generous portions.
Ingredients 1 tbsp Hoisin sauce 1 tbsp white wine vinegar 1 tsp soya sauce 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce 1 large onion chopped 1 tin chopped tomato 1 tsp mixed Italian herbs 1 tsp tomato paste 1 tsp basil & garlic paste 1 tbsp olive oil 1 cup grated cheese 1 small cup bread crumbs 2 cups pasta
Method
What you get is a bubbling pasta & sauce mix with a crusty cheesy top. Have on its own or with garlic bread.
